How are AI PCs different from traditional PCs?

While they excel at tasks such as everyday web searching, data processing and content streaming, they typically don’t come with many built-in AI features — and they struggle to perform complex AI tasks due to limitations with latency, memory, storage and battery life.
Those traditional PCs typically have integrated GPUs (iGPUs) that are built into the CPU and share system RAM. Going a step beyond this are discrete graphic processing units (dGPUs), which can be found in devices such as those offered by Dell. These separate cards handle graphics-heavy tasks like 4K video rendering and editing, complex 3D modeling, and gaming. dGPUs are more performant than integrated GPUs because they have their own dedicated memory, including video memory (VRAM), and power source.
