Cybersecurity company CrowdStrike fired a “suspicious insider” last month, according to a report from TechCrunch.
The terminated worker allegedly provided information about the company’s internal systems to a prominent hacking group. The firing came to light after Scattered Lapsus$ Hunters published screenshots this week in a public Telegram channel showing dashboards containing CrowdStrike company resources, including an Okta dashboard for accessing internal apps.
While the hackers claimed to have attained access to CrowdStrike via a Salesforce-ecosystem breach involving customer engagement vendor Gainsight, CrowdStrike representatives denied that claim, saying instead the screenshots were related to the firing, in which the company “determined [the insider] shared pictures of his computer screen externally.”
